Sunshine is the easiest word for Cindy, though she would laugh at anyone who used it to her face. Her blonde hair falls long in loose waves, her eyes are a clear blue, and her slim 168 cm build suggests a morning spent on deck rather than at a desk. The wardrobe plays along: a crisp white shirt, wide trousers and flat sandals by day, a slip dress and a cropped jacket after six. She is in her mid twenties and entirely unfussy about it. No heavy makeup, no rehearsed entrance, just a quick wave from across the lobby and a proper hello.
Cheerful and sporty, she fills her mornings with yoga and her weekends with sailing whenever the forecast allows. Photography is the quieter habit, a small camera in her bag used sparingly on whatever catches the light. That easygoing manner is a real asset for travellers who have spent the day in back to back meetings, because nothing about her requires effort from you. Her English is bright and conversational, the kind that turns a hotel bar stool into a pleasant half hour before you notice the time.
Her favourite W2 plan runs on water. Around 16:15 you are back on the pontoon with slightly windblown hair. She suggests a drink on a terrace at Paddington Central, then a walk to your hotel to change before dinner. By 19:00 she is talking about the regatta she wants to crew next summer and the yoga class she refuses to miss tomorrow morning, and the evening ends early and happy, which is exactly how she likes it.
Never, and I would like to keep that record. The trick is to step onto the boat, not jump. Most people jump.
