Leg 02
South, towards the park
Lancaster Gate and Hyde Park hold the hotels that look over the grass. Just behind them, Queensway keeps its tables busy late and Bayswater fills its white terraces with small hotels and serviced flats. East of the station, Edgware Road carries the conference crowd down to Marble Arch.
Leg 03
A few minutes further out
Notting Hill and Holland Park are townhouse country, a couple of Central line stops past Queensway. Maida Vale follows the canal north from Little Venice. All three sit inside Zones 1 and 2, so a booking there costs exactly what it costs beside the station.
