Composure, before anything else, is what Samanta brings through a revolving door. At 174 cm and slim, with sleek dark brown hair that falls long and eyes of deep brown, she has a stillness that pulls the eye without any effort on her part. She dresses in noir glamour: a black tuxedo dress, pointed heels and a single silver cuff. In her late twenties, elegant and exact, she looks equally at home in a grand lobby or a minimalist lounge, and she can tell you within a minute which of the two you are standing in.
Magnetic is a word guests use, often without knowing why. Samanta speaks slowly and chooses her words well, and her calm makes a formal dinner feel easy. She has played the violin since she was small, which gave her a musician's patience. Design hotels are a genuine obsession; she collects lobbies the way other people collect stamps. She hosts in English, and she is always partway through learning another language, which gives her a charming habit of asking how people say thank you back home.
Her W2 evening starts where you may already be staying. Hilton London Paddington occupies the old Great Western Royal Hotel, opened in the 1850s beside Brunel's station, and Samanta loves pointing out where the grand Victorian building meets its modern interior. Meet at 19:00 in the lobby, take a drink in the bar and let her give a ten minute tour of details most guests miss. Then dinner a short walk away on Praed Street or by the basin, and back before eleven for a nightcap where the evening began.

By 22:30 you are back in the lobby, which now looks different because she has shown you how to see it.
